“You Must be 18 or Older to Enter” wins Media Choice at IndieCade

Hot dang, after a long IndieCade of booth manning, micro-talk giving, and LA heat walking, I’m proud to say that my brother’s and my studio (Seemingly Pointless)’s game “You Must be 18 or Older to Enter” won Media Choice at IndieCade 2016! http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/283495/IndieCade_announces_list_of_2016_award_winners.php

9/25/2016 Update

This past week I uploaded my 80th game. Not quite a single game, it’s a zine collaboration with Posh Raven containing ten games you can play with business cards (conveniently named as such too). It was accepted to IndieCade 2016 as a Big Game special select, which is outstanding for a zine game collection! You can download the zine’s PDF from GameJolt.com.

You Must be 18 or Older to Enter: IndieCade Nominee; 9/17/2016 update

Excited to announce that my game ‘You Must be 18 or Older to Enter’ is an IndieCade Nominee! Joe and I have been working on this game for a few months now, and while it will always be free, it’s a great first launch for Seemingly Pointless. The game wouldn’t be worth anything if it wasn’t for Julie Buchanan‘s amazing audio and soundscapes.

9/10/2016 – Tokyo Game Show

With TGS right around the corner (runs from 9/16 – 9/18), Joe and I have been clamping down on making the game’s media. He’s made a new trailer, I’ve been working in the game to fix a few bugs. And a new Seemingly Pointless website facelift is in the works. I’ve been working on a few film endeavors; we’ll see how they pan out.

9/03/2016 Update

Joe and I have been slowly chipping away at moving Seemingly Pointless out to California. Along similar lines, we’ve gained a bit of steam working on a new project. Working title: Moloch. Some exciting stuff is in the works for “You Must be 18 or Older to Enter,” our first official Seemingly Pointless release. We’re headed to Tokyo to show it at Tokyo Game Show in about two weeks.

Settled back in at USC: 8/25/2016 Update

My final year in USC’s interactive media graduate program has begun. In the USC program, the final year is spent working on a single project. While I had to pivot on my previous thesis idea (I loved it, but it lacked a solidified core mechanic), the new thesis game is solid, has a fixed mechanic, and is scoped without a threat of feature creep. I’ll tweet and post WIP shots of the new project as they come along. In other news, I began this academic year on the right foot and am very optimistic about completing my challenge!

‘You Must be 18 or Older to Enter’ at A MAZE. / Johannesburg

‘You Must be 18 or Older to Enter’ has been doing extremely well. Excited to announce that it will be at A MAZE. / Johannesburg on August 27 to September 3rd. On a different note, I haven’t had as much time as I would like to work on the remaining games in my 100-in-5 goal. Within the next few days, I’ll be returning to LA for my final year at USC as a graduate student. Once I’m back there, the dust should settle and a schedule will form.

‘You Must be 18 or Older to Enter’ at Tokyo Game Show

My WIP game, “You Must be 18 or Older to Enter” will be showing at the Tokyo Game Show this September. Further, Joe Cox and I are happy to say that it will be the first game to be released under Seemingly Pointless. There’s still about a month of development to go before the game is launch ready, but we’re happy with how it looks and feels as of now.
