New game: Cat Herder

The first of two new games this week is Cat Herder. This is a silly one. I created it because I like the idea of a non-permanent win condition: you can win this game, but the “winning” requires constant upkeep. And kind of like Don’t Kill the Cow, it asks if winning this game is actually worth it? (Cat herding may be a little too blunt, but at least the message isn’t muddled). This one features music and sounds by the tallented Joe Cox

Bottle Rockets soars

I was nervous releasing Bottle Rockets. Its a sad game, and one that I made over the course of four days with many iterations and little sleep. It’s hard to make a story, much less a game, heartfelt without it coming off as sappy. Yet, I am glad to say that Bottle Rockets has been taken well and has surpassed my expectations. The World the Children Made is now playable online!

After a few weeks of tweaking, The World the Children Made is now playable online. It’s still the same game as the downloadable version (although the online version doesn’t quit after you complete it), but by being online, the game is more accessible, especially to those without PCs. Check it out here. There are a few other bits of the game that need tweaking, but it is a solid released game.
